She is a Past President of the Heart Rhythm Society and a recipient of their Distinguished Service Award. Her research interests include implantable device therapy and clinical trials in atrial fibrillation. She was the Principal Investigator of the Block HF trial and has been on the steering committees of many other trials of implantable device therapy. Dr. Curtis has over 270 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and reviews. She is a member of the Association of University Cardiologists.
Affiliation: Dr. Aryana is a classically-trained cardiac electrophysiologist at the Mercy General Hospital and Dignity Health Heart and Vascular Institute in Sacramento, California. He received his training at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. His research interests include catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia and left atrial appendage closure as alternative therapy to oral anticoagulation. Dr. Aryana serves as an international proctor for the procedure of cryoballoon ablation of atrial fibrillation. In addition, he has a special interest in epicardial ablation. He is also the principal faculty and director of a nationally-recognized epicardial course which provides hands-on training to invasive cardiologists and cardiac electrophysiologists.

From 2002 Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory of the San Filippo Neri Hospital in Rome, In 2001 he was appointed "Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology" (FESC). Author, often the first name of several scientific papers, many of which have been published in leading national and international journals of Cardiology. He attended, almost always as a speaker, numerous national and international conferences.
